The Role – Legal Associate (Commercial Litigation)

We are seeking a Legal Associate with commercial litigation experience to join our internal legal department.

You will play a key role in supporting the credit compliance function, assisting in transaction execution, post-transaction monitoring, and recovery projects.

This is a hands‑on, office‑based role with no remote work options.

Purpose of the Role

The Legal Associate will provide legal support in all aspects of commercial transactions, ensuring that deals are legally sound and effectively managed from initiation to recovery.

This is not a regulatory compliance role.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Vetting deal terms and conditions from a legal perspective prior to credit approval
  • Drafting legal agreements and related documents using standard templates (e.g., Loan Agreements, Pledge and Cession Agreements, Guarantees)
  • Instructing external attorneys for the registration of securities (e.g., mortgage bonds, notarial bonds)
  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure proper deal execution and adherence to conditions
  • Project managing commercial recovery matters from legal action initiation to full recovery
  • Monitoring and managing portfolio risks
  • Providing legal advice on corporate and commercial matters
  • Performing KYC / FICA / AML / PEP checks on clients
  • Drafting Term Sheets aligned with credit approvals and handling documentation administration
  • Addressing queries from credit analysts, operations, and clients
  • Drafting regulatory‑required documents, non‑standard security agreements, and resolutions
  • Ensuring all client documents are complete, up‑to‑date, and correctly uploaded into systems
