MRI Software requires a legal administrator to carry out the administrative functions of the in‑house legal team.
We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in the Johannesburg office.
Responsibilities
- Disputes
- Monitoring of the TPN Disputes mailbox, logging incoming disputes, sending 10‑day follow‑up emails, collating dispute evidence and presenting it to a disputes attorney for assessment.
- Collating and preparing evidence for any referrals to the Credit Ombud or National Credit Regulator.
- Monthly submission of dispute reports to the National Credit Regulator.
- Investigating and assessing consent disputes and drawing up compliance notices for non‑compliant users.
- TPN Collections
- Monitoring TPN Collections inbox, referring consumers to the correct client and referring any communication from the Council for Debt Collectors to Head of Legal for response.
- TPN NCR Mailbox
- Monitor the TPN NCR mailbox for updates from the NCR and bring any applicable correspondence to the attention of Head of Legal.
- Engage with any consumer correspondence that comes to this inbox.
- Client contracting
- Preparing client contracts for signature, adding TPN signature to approved contracts, uploading and organising signed client contracts.
- Managing hard‑copy client agreements.
- Collating and preparing all supplier and vendor agreements for signature and uploading relevant copies for retention.
- Internal legal meetings
- Take and prepare minutes for all legal meetings, organise and schedule legal meetings with external third parties.
- Legal research
- Carry out basic legal research to assist attorneys in formulating formal legal opinions.
- Any other Ad hoc duties that may arise.
Experience & Skills
- 1‑2 years legal experience either as a paralegal or legal secretary.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to keep to legislative deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
