Position Overview
STADIO, a leading comprehensive multi-campus higher education institution in South Africa and Namibia, seeks a qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in the School of Information and Technology. The role is based in Centurion and offers a vibrant academic environment with opportunities to grow and innovate.
Both permanent Lecturer and Senior Lecturer positions are available. The Senior Lecturer requires a PhD in Computer Science or related field; Lecturer requires an Honours Degree.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Academic Manager of the School of Information Technology and independently use the LMS to design, develop, and deliver modules.
- Participate in ongoing development of programmes and curriculum, incorporating current educational trends and best practices.
- Undertake assigned internal moderation responsibilities to ensure assessment validity and reliability.
- Conduct venue‑based assessment invigilation as required by the Registrar’s Office.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students, addressing their concerns and queries promptly.
- Complete all Quality Assurance requirements related to modules and programmes to ensure compliance with academic standards.
- Engage in research activities, contribute to community projects, and foster a culture of continuous learning and positive societal impact.
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and management members.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while maintaining administrative efficiency.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and relevant committees as requested by management.
- Fulfill administrative duties related to the position as directed by the relevant line manager.
Qualifications
- Honours Degree in a related field (Lecturer) or PhD in Computer Science or related field (Senior Lecturer).
- Prior teaching experience at a higher education level or professional / industry experience in IT infrastructure and systems.
- Proficiency in networking, systems administration, databases, and software development.
- Strong programming background (Python, Java, C++ or similar) with exposure to data science, machine learning, and software engineering.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud computing, IT governance, and applied networks is highly advantageous.
- Industry certifications advantageous: Cisco CCNA / CCNP, AWS, Microsoft Azure, CompTIA Security+, Data Science.
