Job summary

A higher education institution in South Africa seeks a qualified lecturer to teach Inclusive Education. The role requires a Master's degree and at least two years of relevant lecturing experience. Job Purpose
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • A relevant Masters’ degree in Inclusive Education (OR a relevant Hons-degree for Junior Lecturer level).
  • Theory of Education as a major at Bachelor’s level.
  • A relevant teaching degree.
  • At least two (2) years’ relevant lecturing experience in Inclusive Education and Theory of Education at tertiary level
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience in the preparation and evaluation of meaningful teaching experiences for Intermediate Phase (and Foundation Phase) students.
  • Experience and knowledge of support and differentiated teaching for learners experiencing barriers to learning related to Language.

Please Note: Preference will be given to candidates meeting the minimum requirements at Lecturer level

Recommendations:

  • Relevant research output.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CAPS in the Intermediate Phase (and Foundation Phase).
  • Solid grounding in the subject (Inclusive Education) as well as the teaching methodologies.
  • Experience in the planning, designing and editing of teaching and learning materials (including electronic).

  • Perform other functions as may be assigned by the head of department.
