Job Purpose

The objective is to fill the position of Lecturer: Foundation Phase in the Foundation Phase to teach in the field of Language in Education (First Additional Language English) and Professional Practice in the Foundation Phase on the Wellington Campus.. The lecturer will also be requited to teach Visual Arts 1 on the Diploma in Grade R-course.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • A Master’s degree relevant to the field of Language in Education (First Additional Language English) or Professional Practice in the Foundation Phase (Or a relevant Hons-degree for Junior Lecturer level).
  • A relevant teaching degree.
  • A teaching qualification relevant to the teaching of a combination of Language in Education, Professional Practice, and Visual Arts at tertiary level.
  • At least two (2) years’ relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or five (5) years’ relevant experience in Foundation Phase at school levels.
  • Specialized knowledge of methodologies of the relevant teaching subjects.
  • Fluency in English and Afrikaans (B.Ed. tuition regarding Professional Practice and Visual Art in Wellington is through Afrikaans).
