Job Description
  • The Department of Emergency Medical Care, within the Faculty of Sciences on the Doornfontein Campus, currently offers a range of emergency medical care and rescue qualifications.
  • The successful incumbent would be responsible for the facilitation of teaching, learning and assessment activities for undergraduate medical rescue and emergency medical care students including supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitating teaching, learning and assessment activities for undergraduate emergency medical care students focusing on Physical Preparedness, Professional Practice and Emergency Medical Care in pre-hospital contexts.
  • Participate in, and facilitate, clinical Learning and / or related WIL, simulated learning events and placements including the mentoring of students on the clinical learning platform.
  • Development and refinement of online course materials.
  • Organize and participate in physical fitness and swimming training including the conducting of related assessments.
Minimum Requirements
  • A Masters’ degree in Emergency Medical Care (NQF 9).
  • Two years' of registration (and currently registered) with the HPCSA as an Emergency Care Practitioner.
  • One to two years' of working experience in teaching and learning.
  • Code B driver’s license.
  • Candidates must be in a position to pass departmental physical fitness and swimming assessments.
