Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a Hospitality Lecturer to join our Ballito team. The role focuses on delivering learning using lectures, demonstrations, tutorials, and simulations, while planning assessments per policy and maintaining accurate records of student achievements.

The ideal candidate will mentor students, stay abreast of hospitality trends, and represent the school in industry forums. A Level 8/9 in Hospitality or related field with relevant teaching or industry experience is required.

Qualifications

• Academic qualification: Level 8 or 9 in Hospitality or related field.
• Experience: minimum 2 years’ lecturing/teaching in Hospitality Management or related industry experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication across all levels.
• Regulatory knowledge: understanding of SA education and training regulations.
• Industry insight: familiarity with hospitality and food service sectors.

Passionate about shaping the future of hospitality? We’re looking for a dynamic Hospitality Lecturer to join our team in Ballito.

A Lecturer facilitates learning using a variety of methods such as lectures, demonstrations, tutorials, simulations, and skills development. They plan and conduct assessments in line with the school’s Assessment Policy and Procedure and ensure accurate records are kept of student achievements. Lecturers provide academic support to individual students or class groups through mentoring and coaching. They also carry out research into current industry trends and represent the school in industry bodies.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and record assessments in compliance with institutional policies.
• Provide academic support and mentorship to students.
• Stay updated on hospitality trends and integrate them into teaching.

Requirements

• Academic Qualification: Level 8 or 9 qualification in Hospitality or a related field (or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ relevant lecturing/teaching experience in Hospitality Management or practical experience within the hospitality industry.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage positively with students, parents, and sponsors.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of legislation relevant to education and training in South Africa.
• Industry Insight: Appreciation of the hospitality and food service sectors.
• Professional Skills: Excellent presentation and organizational abilities.
• Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and a strong team player; able to work under pressure and plan effectively to avoid last-minute challenges; high level of integrity.
