Job summary

A leading university in South Africa is seeking a qualified Research Psychologist to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in research methods and statistics. The ideal candidate will have a PhD, a Master's in Research Psychology, and experience in teaching and research. Brief Description

Requirements:

  • PhD degree and Masters degree in Research Psychology.
  • Experience in teaching research methods and statistical analysis at a tertiary level using SPSS, R and other software.
  • Educational background, teaching and research interests in psychology disciplines allied with departmental foci.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proven research ability as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and/or research reports.
  • Registration with the HPCSA in the category of Research Psychologist preferably for three years or more would be an advantage.
Responsibilities

Teaching of courses in quantitative methods, qualitative methods, and/or statistics at undergraduate and postgraduate level; teaching of courses in other disciplinary areas commensurate with experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level; contributions to course-level curriculum development and transformation; academic administration; supervision of postgraduate students; willingness to pursue an active programme of research and research publication; and willingness to participate in the intellectual and public life of the school and university.
