Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Toddler Educator for an innovative early learning center in Benoni, Gauteng. You will guide a team of educators, oversee the 1–3 year curriculum, and promote a play-based, inquiry-driven learning environment to support each child’s growth.

The role requires a strong pedagogy in early childhood development, leadership, and excellent communication. A hybrid work arrangement is offered, balancing on-site leadership with remote administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Development or related field (NQF Level 5 or equivalent).
• Minimum 4 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of toddler development, learning theories, and pedagogical approaches.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of educators.
• Excellent curriculum planning, assessment, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of toddler educators, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate a creative and engaging toddler curriculum that aligns with best practices in early childhood education.
• Ensure the creation of a safe, stimulating, and supportive classroom environment that promotes exploration and discovery.
• Oversee daily routines, including learning activities, meal times, naps, and hygiene practices.
• Conduct regular observations and assessments of children's progress, maintaining detailed records and providing comprehensive reports to parents.
• Communicate effectively with parents, building strong partnerships to support the child's development.
• Manage classroom resources and materials, ensuring they are accessible and well-maintained.
• Collaborate with center management on program development, policy implementation, and professional development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations.
