Job summary

The YMCA of Columbia-Willamette is seeking a Lead Teacher to act as the onsite program leader for a Hillsboro School District site. You will supervise teachers, aides, and volunteers, maintain a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom, and deliver a fun, engaging curriculum while building strong relationships with children and families.

Responsibilities include potential travel to other YMCA sites and participation in company events.

Qualifications

• Pass a YMCA Background Check.
• At least 240 hours of qualifying experience with school age children in the past five years.
• Meet all Program Leader standards as dictated by the state Child Care Division.
• Current enrollment in the Oregon State Childcare Registry or ability to enroll before employment.
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Food Handlers certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

A Lead Teacher will be the onsite leader of the program supervising teachers, aides, and volunteers. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, implementing a fun and engaging curriculum, and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and the school community. Work is primarily performed in Hillsboro School District. At times, staff may be asked to travel to fill in at other childcare sites within the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette Association. There may be times when staff are asked to attend company events outside of their regular schedule. Staff will be notified ahead of time if and when this happens.
