About the Role

Our client requires a seasoned Lead Process Safety Engineer to ensure the highest standards of safety are maintained across their operations in Polokwane . This leadership role is critical for identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards within the Oil & Gas facilities. You will champion a robust process safety management (PSM) system, working closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to prevent major accidents. Your expertise will be vital in fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance in the Limpopo province.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
• Oversee the mechanical integrity of safety-critical equipment and systems.
• Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, ensuring thorough root cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain safety procedures, standards, and guidelines.
• Provide expert advice and training on process safety principles and practices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international process safety regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
