Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Industrial Hygiene & Sanitation Supervisor for their operations in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This leadership role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive industrial hygiene programs and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive industrial hygiene and sanitation programs in accordance with relevant regulations and company policies in Nelspruit .
• Lead, train, and supervise a team of industrial hygiene and sanitation technicians, ensuring effective performance and adherence to protocols.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Develop and implement effective waste management strategies, promoting reduction, reuse, and recycling.
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with management, HR, and operational departments to integrate safety and sanitation practices into all aspects of work.
• Develop and deliver training sessions on industrial hygiene, chemical safety, and sanitation best practices.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and sanitation supervision.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, chemical safety, and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, national equivalents).
• Excellent leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
• Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using relevant software.
• Ability to conduct site assessments and manage projects effectively.
• A valid driver's license is required for site visits within the Nelspruit region.
