• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

• 8+ years in operations and maintenance of power generation facilities focusing on geothermal.

• Deep knowledge of geothermal plant tech incl. turbines and fluid handling.
• Strong process control and data acquisition experience.
• Budget and resource management experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of geothermal power plants, ensuring maximum uptime and energy output.
• Develop and implement robust maintenance programs, including predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Lead a team of skilled engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and performance management.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to optimize plant efficiency and reliability.
• Manage operational budgets and resource allocation effectively.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
• Troubleshoot complex operational issues and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams on plant upgrades, modifications, and new developments.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for operational hazards.
• Maintain comprehensive operational logs and prepare detailed performance reports for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• A Master's degree or equivalent industry certification is highly desirable.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in the operations and maintenance of power generation facilities, with a significant focus on geothermal energy.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing operational teams.
• In-depth knowledge of geothermal power plant technologies, including turbines, generators, and fluid handling systems.
• Strong understanding of process control, SCADA systems, and data acquisition.
• Expertise in developing and implementing maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and operational resources.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
• Familiarity with South African energy regulations is a plus.
