Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Lead Game Animator to steer animation for new titles in George. You will guide a team of animators, establish quality standards, and push the artistic and technical boundaries of character and environmental animation.

You will collaborate with art directors, designers, and engineers to align animation with game goals, while refining pipelines for efficiency and delivering immersive visuals in a growing Western Cape studio.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in game animation with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Expertise in industry-standard 3D software and production pipelines.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of game animators, providing clear direction and constructive feedback.
• Define and oversee the animation style and quality standards for assigned game projects.
• Create high-quality character, creature, and environmental animations using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate closely with art directors, designers, and engineers to ensure animation meets project goals and technical requirements.
• Develop and refine animation pipelines and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex animation-related technical issues.
