Job summary

MDT Foods cc t/a MDT Technical Placements is seeking a Maintenance Foreman in the Gauteng region. The role involves leading a maintenance team, hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance, and driving preventative maintenance programs.

The ideal candidate must be a trade-tested Millwright with 3-5 years of maintenance management experience in FMCG/food processing, and be prepared for overtime and callouts with a valid SA driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Trade tested Millwright with 3-5 years hands-on maintenance management experience in FMCG / Food processing environment.
• Experience with CMMS systems, specifically Pragma OnKey.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and callouts; SA driver's license and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance team with hands-on leadership in electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on all plant machinery and equipment.
• Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting, diagnoses, repair, and optimisation of equipment.
• Manage the Pragma OnKey CMMS system (order management, asset history, planning, spare parts tracking, performance analysis).
• Develop and maintain planned preventative maintenance programmes and schedules to maximise equipment reliability.
• Manage all maintenance activities (corrective, preventative and predictive) in alignment with production schedules and targets.
• Conduct root cause analysis on recurring breakdowns and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Manage and control the maintenance budget (overtime, contractors and consumables).
• Collaborate with Production, Technical and Operations teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
