Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Specialist in Stellenbosch, Western Cape to lead complex electrical design initiatives. You will mentor junior engineers, set design standards, and ensure technical integrity from concept through implementation.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of progressive electrical design experience, CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical), and strong leadership and problem-solving skills in industrial or commercial settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical design and system engineering.
• Experience designing electrical systems for industrial, commercial, or specialized applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process from concept to detailed engineering.
• Develop schematics, layouts, wiring diagrams, and control panel designs.
• Perform detailed calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate designs.
• Ensure designs meet national and international electrical standards and codes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to integrate systems.
• Oversee selection and specification of electrical components and equipment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Conduct design reviews and QA checks to maintain high standards.
• Troubleshoot design issues during execution and commissioning.
• Stay updated on new technologies and methodologies in electrical design.
