Placements24 invites a seasoned Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to drive strategic cloud initiatives for telecom/digital transformations. This remote role supports operations across South Africa, translating business needs into scalable, secure cloud designs.

You will guide the adoption of AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, lead cloud governance, mentor engineers, and ensure cost-efficient solutions while maintaining security and compliance across environments.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years IT experience with 5+ years in cloud architecture/design.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and microservices.
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with telecom network principles is a plus.

• Architecting and designing scalable, high-availability cloud solutions on major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for telecom services.
• Leading the technical strategy for cloud adoption and migration within the organization.

• Developing and enforcing cloud governance, security policies, and best practices.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and design.
• Extensive experience designing and deploying solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Deep understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
• Proven expertise in network design within cloud environments, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with telecommunications network principles and technologies is a significant advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
