About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding technology firm, is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to establish and manage their cloud infrastructure strategy. Based in Polokwane, Limpopo , this role is pivotal in driving the company's digital transformation initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of cloud architecture patterns, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices. This is a leadership position requiring excellent technical acumen, strategic thinking, and strong stakeholder management skills. You will guide a team of cloud engineers and collaborate closely with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and high availability of our services.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and design robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Lead the implementation of CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and infrastructure provisioning.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to cloud engineering and operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements in the cloud environment.
• Optimize cloud resource utilization for cost efficiency and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to design cloud-native applications and microservices architectures.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures and processes.
• Stay abreast of the latest cloud technologies and trends, and evangelize their adoption.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and engineering.
• Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
