Job summary

Headhunters in South Africa seeks an experienced production supervisor in cheese manufacturing to lead up to 24 employees, oversee draining vats, towers, and equipment, and ensure adherence to GMP, HACCP, ISO, and quality standards.

You will monitor pH, salt, vacuum, weight, and recipes; drive efficiency, training, and safety; coordinate with Cheesemaker, Laboratory, Warehouse, Planning, and Cold Storage; and maintain strict record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric with SP2 and Nature of Milk.
• HACCP and Safety Training Certificate is required.
• Minimum 1 year in a cheese manufacturing environment.
• Previous supervisory experience overseeing production teams.
• Ability to supervise up to 24 employees.
• Knowledge of cheese manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, ISO, and food safety standards.
• Strong leadership, training, and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate up to 24 employees to meet production targets and uphold discipline.
• Oversee draining vats, cheese towers, and associated equipment for continuous production.
• Monitor pH, salt, vacuum, weight, and recipe compliance to meet specs.
• Ensure cheese products meet quality, weight, traceability, and food safety standards.
• Maintain HACCP, ISO, GMP, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout production.
• Drive efficiency by tracking yields, reducing waste, and achieving targets.
• Promote a safe working environment with PPE and incident reporting.
• Coordinate with Cheesemaker, Laboratory, Warehouse, Planning, and Cold Storage teams.
• Train, coach, and develop staff for SOP compliance and skills growth.
