Job summary

Snackworks Isando Biscuits Factory in Kempton Park, Gauteng, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to ensure quality and safety in food production.

The role involves physical and chemical analyses, calibration of lab equipment, and participation in GMP/FSSC 22000 audits within a fast-paced biscuit-making environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in FMCG, preferably in baking and packaging industries.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical and chemical analysis on raw materials, packaging, in-process, and finished products.
• Verify Certificates of Analysis (COA) and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to meet ISO 17025.
• Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure effective resolution.
• Perform GMP audits and support FSSC 22000.
• Train QA Technicians on laboratory procedures and hygiene inspections.
• Participate in process control and troubleshoot quality issues with multidisciplinary teams.

Line Manager: Laboratory Supervisor

Job Specification:

Key Performance Areas:

• Conduct physical and chemical analysis on raw materials, packaging, in-process, and finished products.
• Verify Certificates of Analysis (COA) and ensure compliance with specifications.
