Qualifications

• At least five years experience in a production laboratory.
• Proven experience implementing and maintaining an ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Management System.
• Experience within an ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited laboratory.
• Experience operating and developing analytical methods using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF).
• Experience with ICP-OES and wet chemistry analysis.
• Sound knowledge of sampling, sample preparation and sample-handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory personnel and coordinate daily shift activities.
• Manage employee performance, training, competency, attendance and overtime.
• Ensure accurate sampling, sample preparation, testing and reporting.
• Conduct planned task observations and maintain quality-control standards.
• Monitor analytical accuracy and investigate deviations.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures, customer specifications and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Assist with XRF method development, calibration and validation.
• Inspect, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Complete and verify laboratory records, checklists and shift handovers.
• Conduct risk assessments and promote compliance with SHE requirements.
