Job summary

Afrimat Ash Resources in Sasolburg is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to lead the lab team and ensure testing accuracy and timeliness. The role requires strong knowledge of quality testing procedures and systems.

You will drive safety, measurements and reporting to support production and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have Matric, relevant tertiary qualifications advantageous, a valid RSA driver’s license, and proficient use of MS Office and lab information management systems.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is required.
• Tertiary qualifications relevant to laboratory work are advantageous.
• A valid unendorsed RSA Driver's license is required.
• In-depth knowledge of quality testing procedures and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Lab information management systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all testing is performed accurately and timeously according to specified test methods.
• Review and authorize lab test results and compile reports as requested.
• Meet testing frequency targets.
• Manage daily lab activities and housekeeping.
• Track KPIs and arrange training and development for lab technicians.
• Conduct competency observations to ensure compliance.
• Enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
• Manage the lab quality system requirements.
• Delegate tasks to technicians.
• Ensure equipment calibration, maintenance and cleaning.
• Arrange external lab testing as required.
• Provide technical support to production managers and clients.

**Location:**Sasolburg,Free State,South AfricaAfrimat Ash Resources, based in Lethabo has a vacancy for a:## Laboratory Supervisor##### Minimum Qualification / Experience* Matric / Grade 12.* Relevant tertiary qualifications advantageous* Must be in possession of a valid unendorsed RSA Driver's license* In depth knowledge of quality testing procedures and required specifications* Excellent attention to detail; accuracy and problem-solving skills* Proficient in MS Office including Excel and relevant Lab information management systems* Medically fit to work in a laboratory environment, including ability to lift heavy weights when required* Ability to follow structured processes and controls* Strong leadership, communication and organizational abilities* Demonstrate excellent time management skills* Ability to multitask and to work under pressure##### Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):* Ensure all testing is done accurately and timeously according to specified test methods.* Review, verify and authorize all lab test results and compile required reports as requested.* Ensure testing frequency targets are met.* Management of all daily activities and housekeeping at the Lab* Track individual KPI's and arrange training and development for the lab technicians.* Conduct regular task observations to ensure competency and compliance.* Implement the required action for non-conformance.* Ensure adherence to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.* Manage the Quality system requirements of the laboratory.* Delegate daily tasks to technicians.* Compile reports for management at specified intervals* Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated; maintained and cleaned.* Arrange external lab testing as required.* Assist production managers and clients to resolve material issues and provide technical support.##### Please send the following documents to apply:Please upload the following documents in one file with the application form to the right.
