Job summary
A leading chemical company in South Africa is seeking an individual to analyze raw and finished products, improve lab accuracy, and manage laboratory waste. Responsibilities include calibration, troubleshooting instruments, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role is integral to maintaining product quality and laboratory standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis of raw, intermediate and finished products.
- Calibrate instruments and improve lab procedures.
- Manage laboratory waste and perform stock procurement.
Responsibilities
- To perform analysis of raw, intermediate and finished products and take corrective action to produce products within specifications.
- Perform calibration duties and improve on analytical and lab procedures to improve accuracy and productivity.
- Perform various administrative tasks within the 3 laboratories
- Required to perform analysis of non-critical raw materials, active ingredients, intermediates and finished products.
- Improve on analytical and lab procedures to improve accuracy and productivity.
- Required to trouble shoot on instruments when analytical problems are experienced.
- Maintenance and control of reagents inventory.
- To investigate customer complaints on in-house products.
- Required to manage laboratory waste.
- Preparation and execution of monthly stock takes for the laboratory;
- Procurement of stock including obtaining quotes, liaison with suppliers, filing purchase orders and processing tax invoices.
- Liaison with Production Team Leaders with regard to out of spec products.
- Housekeeping, maintenance and clearance of retention stores.
- Ensure adequate maintenance and subculturing of mother cultures for production, quality control and intellectual property purposes.
- To undertake any legal ad hoc tasks for which the incumbent is competent as directed by management.
- To adhere to statutory and legal requirements
- To participate and assist to maintain SHEQ Management Systems certifications/standards.
- To ensure that non-conformance issues are reported according to the no-conformance procedures.
- To ensure that actions emanating from non-conformance investigations are closed out timeously.
- Participate in all internal and external audits done for SHEQ Management Systems pertaining to areas of responsibility.
