Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a kind and proactive Kindergarten Teacher Assistant to join a Durban-based learning community. You will support the lead teacher in delivering lessons, managing activities, and fostering a safe, welcoming classroom environment for young learners.

You will provide one-on-one support, supervise during play and meals, and help with materials and stations. Strong communication, teamwork, and a patient, creative approach are essential to support children's development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate in Early Childhood Education is advantageous.
• Experience assisting in a kindergarten or early learning environment.
• Patience, creativity and a positive attitude towards working with children.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in delivering educational lessons and classroom activities.
• Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance.
• Supervise children during playtime, lunch, and transitions.
• Help prepare classroom materials and maintain tidiness.
• Support the development of social skills and positive behavior.
• Communicate with the lead teacher regarding student progress.
