Job summary

A leading life sciences company in Gauteng is seeking a candidate to manage key accounts and develop business within their pathology portfolio. You will maintain relationships with existing customers and implement marketing strategies. The successful candidate requires a diploma in life sciences and experience in the IVD industry. Job description
Minimum requirements for the role
  • A diploma or degree in life sciences or medical laboratory sciences or related fields is preferred. A post-graduate certificate would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in IVD or related products in the industry is essential.
  • Previous experience having worked in a medical laboratory is preferred.
  • Previous experience having liaised with key opinion leaders in the pathology field as well as having a good understanding of the industry is essential.
  • The successful candidate should have a high level of etiquette and analytical skills when interacting with customers.
  • Previous experience working within the life science / diagnostics sales environment.
  • Existing relationships within the private pathology industry preferable
The successful candidate will be responsible for
  • Managing key accounts and developing new business within the companies’ pathology portfolio.
  • Maintaining and building relationships with existing customers to ensure they are retained.
  • Implementing marketing strategies as well as coordinating targeted customer visits with product managers
  • Collaborating with the product managers on active opportunities.
  • Maintaining communication with pathologists, heads of departments and procurements within private pathology laboratories.
  • Developing product management strategies and managing overseas principals and their product range.
  • Compiling budget and target planning.
  • Maintaining high-level technical discussions with key opinion leaders within the industry and building strong relationships with key accounts.
  • Providing customers with technical support and training.
  • Working closely with field service engineers, and senior technical staff when problem solving on site.
  • Attending overseas training on the latest technology and equipment that will be promoted in the industry.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the company's laboratory / scientific equipment portfolio, including instrumentation, reagents, consumables, and software.
