Job summary

Unitrade 745 (Pty) Ltd in Kloof, near Durban, is hiring a motivated Junior PHP / WordPress Developer to join our growing development team. You will work on client projects, maintain WordPress sites, and contribute to a variety of tasks in a collaborative office environment.

The successful candidate will have 1–2 years of WordPress experience, solid PHP basics, and familiarity with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Knowledge of MySQL and WordPress themes/plugins is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years' experience with WordPress websites.
• Basic to intermediate PHP development skills.
• Good understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with MySQL databases.
• Experience with WordPress themes and plugins.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update existing WordPress websites.
• Perform WordPress core, theme and plugin updates.
• Troubleshoot website issues and resolve bugs.
• Assist with the development of new WordPress websites.
• Develop and customise WordPress functionality using PHP.
• Implement website designs using WordPress themes and page builders.
• Test websites across multiple browsers and devices.
• Assist with website backups, security checks and technical support.
• Escalate complex technical issues where required.
