Job summary

Sanbona Wildlife Reserve seeks a dedicated Junior Teaching Assistant to support educational programs within a wildlife conservation setting. You will deliver lessons, assist teachers, and help manage classroom activities for Foundation Phase learners in Grades R to 4, with a focus on environmental awareness and community engagement.

Ideal candidates hold a Grade 12 plus a 4-year teaching degree, CAPS training, SACE registration, and fluent Afrikaans and English.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and a 4-year teaching degree.
• CAPS training certification.
• SACE registration.
• Ability to communicate effectively in Afrikaans and English, both written and spoken.
• Minimum two years’ experience in Foundation Phase Grades R to 4.
• Strong assessment and administrative skills.
• Proven teamwork and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality educational lessons to children enrolled at the reserve.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during activities.
• Report any situations or complaints to the supervising teacher.
• Support teachers in maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Aid in pupil assessments, appraisals, and developmental activities.
• Contribute to cost management in line with the budget.
• Help ensure all activities and projects meet environmental standards and are conducted sustainably.
