Job Description
Main Purpose of the Role: As a Junior Warehouse Manager, you will manage a high performing warehouse team to ensure effective and efficient stock movement from inbound to outbound in line with company standards and requirements (Premier Way) in collaboration with the warehouse manager.
Job Objectives
- To optimize the flow of stock in the warehouse through operational management processes that includes but is not limited to: implementation of the warehouse utilization plan, process flow management and organization, picking controls, stock control and rotation, pallet control, regular review of stock buffers and feedback to Central Planning to minimize loss and meet customer requirements in line with company processes and procedures.
- To manage, control and minimize operational costs in line with the budget/targets through the implementation of cost control and continuous improvement practices in collaboration with the warehouse manager.
- To ensure compliance and adherence to Premier Food Safety standards, policies and procedures through implementation of operational guidelines on housekeeping practices, daily cleaning processes and practices, monitoring of operational controls, ongoing management of bad goods.
- To ensure a safe working environment and compliance to the OHS Act and Premier Health and Safety policies and procedures through monthly SHE committee meetings and representatives, regular reviews of SOPS as per schedule.
- To create a high performing warehouse team through management of staff performance in line with the Premier way through processes to attract and retain talent, cascading and contracting scorecards for all warehouse staff, and agreeing and monitoring performance and development through IDP’s or team skills training plans.
Qualifications
- Essential: Matric with mathematics
- Desirable: Logistics or Supply Chain Management diploma
Experience Requirements
- Essential: Supervisory management of continuous operations – 3-5 years
- FMCG warehouse management – 1-2 years
- Performance management principles – Intermediate – Essential
- Disciplinary process principles – Intermediate – Essential
- Stock management/rotation principles – Basic – Essential
- Process control systems – Basic – Desirable
- Health and Safety Act requirements for 16.2 appointee – Basic – Desirable
