Tax Specialist Responsibilities
- Researching tax laws.
- Assisting in SARS tax reviews, audits and other cases.
- Gathering information and explaining options for best practice to clients.
- Preparing monthly, bi-monthly, provisional and annual tax compliance.
- Preparing and ensuring that tax returns are filed in accordance with tax authorities.
- Analysing and minimising tax liabilities by implementing tax reduction strategies.
- Reviewing financial records, financial statements, income and expenditure reports and financial projections for implementing tax computations and tax planning.
- Researching tax issues and assisting with tax opinions.
- debt management and compromises.
- Consulting with clients, reviewing their tax information, and responding to questions and concerns.
- Advising clients on the tax implications of employee health care benefits, retirement benefits, travel allowances and other fringe benefits plus overall salary structures and employee classifications.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records.

- Penalty & Interest Remittance

Tax Specialist Requirements
- Degree in accounting or tax, or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a tax accountant, tax analyst, or 1+ years of tax preparation experience.
- Computer literacy in accounting software.
- Excellent accounting skills.
- A keen eye for details.
- Outstanding numerical and analytical skills.
- Business or Financial Advisory certification is beneficial.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritise and manage time efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply judgement with justification.
- Excellent organisational skills to keep an audit trail with documentation.
- Good customer service skills.
