Job summary

Saab is seeking a System Verifier to drive integration and verification of EW systems on customer and R&D projects in a defence-focused environment. You will own the integration laboratories and test infrastructure, and provide external support for installation, ground and field testing of delivered EW systems on customer platforms.

Role involves defining test baselines, ICDs, system rig definitions, and ongoing verification and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering (Dip., BTech or BEng) required.
• 2+ years System Verification experience and EW experience.

Responsibilities

• Own system integration and verification for EW systems on customer and R&D projects.
• Manage Integration Laboratories and test infrastructure for the EW systems lifecycle.
• Provide external support to the integrator on installation, ground and field testing of EW systems.
• Maintain test infrastructure in labs including calibration of test equipment.
• Generate ICDs and Interconnect Diagrams.
• Establish test baselines.
• System rig definition, instantiation and verification.
• System integration, test and evaluation.
• Support the platform installation authority during field test activities.

Job description

The System Verifier (SV) is responsible for integration and verification of the technical performance of EW customer systems. This includes but is not limited to creation of the test baseline in cooperation with the System Engineer, execution of the acceptance tests, installations and installation performance as per the contract.

The System Verifier forms part of the SE team that ensures delivery of the required product/system on time, within specification and within the budgeted costs. The responsibility includes the definition and instantiation of the required system verification infrastructure (harnesses and rigs) as well as the laboratory infrastructure.

The SV also supports the execution of Customer Support contracts and functions, including field visits and maintenance and repair of products. In addition, the SV supports the execution of R&D projects, including field trials and demonstrations, where the SV is responsible for defining and instantiating infrastructure with direction from Product management.

Your role:

• Take ownership of the System Integration and Verification through the following main functions:
• Internally responsible for the integration, verification and delivery of the EW systems on customer projects and R&D projects.
• Internally responsible for the Integration Laboratories and the test infrastructure for the life of the EW systems
• Externally responsible for providing the support to the integrator on EW customer projects for the integration, installation, ground and field testing of the delivered EW Systems on the customer platform (e.g. land vehicle, aircraft, sea vessel)

Typical activities needed to exercise these responsibilities are:

• Maintain test infrastructure in labs (including calibration of test equipment)
• Generate the ICD and Interconnect Diagram
• Establish test baselines.
• Responsible for the system rig definition, instantiation and verification.
• Responsible for system integration, test and evaluation.
• Provide technical support to the platform installation authority during integration and field test activities.
• Note that Working at Heights and in small, confined spaces may form part of day to day work environment

Your profile:

• Electronics foundation
• RF knowledge and work experience with RF systems in EW
• Electronic Warfare knowledge
• Domain knowledge in military environment (airborne, naval or land) may be advantageous
• Platform installation knowledge of Military platforms may be advantageous

Desired skills:

• 2+ years System Verification experience and EW experience;
• Military experience an advantage

Competencies:

• System Integration and Verification
• Use and understanding of technical documentation including drawings and ICDs
• Applications: Doors, Visio, Mentor graphic or equivalent
• Practical manufacture and fault-finding skills

Qualification:

• Diploma Electronical Engineering fields, BTech Electronical Engineering fields or BEng Electronics
