Job Title: Junior System Administrator / IT Support (Rosebank)
Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior System Administrator / IT Support professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day IT support and assist with the maintenance and management of our IT infrastructure. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to grow in the IT field, with a focus on system administration and support.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for employees by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist in the management and maintenance of IT systems, including servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure.
- Help with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and business applications.
- Support and manage Active Directory, Office 365, and other enterprise systems.
- Monitor the performance and health of the IT infrastructure, including backup systems and disaster recovery solutions.
- Assist with network administration tasks, including configuration and monitoring of routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Support cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS) and ensure proper provisioning, maintenance, and monitoring of cloud resources.
- Conduct routine system updates, patches, and maintenance to ensure security and efficiency.
- Help with the onboarding process for new employees, including setting up user accounts, email addresses, and access to required systems.
- Provide first-line support and assist in escalating issues to senior team members when needed.
- Document troubleshooting steps, processes, and configurations for future reference.
Qualifications
- A diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure components such as networking, servers, and cloud services.
- Experience with operating systems (Windows Server, Windows OS, Linux).
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and other networking concepts.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Office Suite applications.
- Knowledge of cloud services such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Certification(s) such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified : Azure Fundamentals are advantageous.
- Familiarity with system automation tools or scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
- Basic knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
