Placements24 in Cape Town invites a driven Junior Civil Engineer to join our structural design team. You will work under senior engineers, contributing to design and analysis of buildings and infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative office setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree and are pursuing EIT or ECSA registration, with familiarity in structural software and SA codes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
EIT or ECSA registration in progress or a strong desire to achieve it.
Familiarity with structural analysis software and design principles.
Basic understanding of South African building codes and standards.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and develop expertise in structural engineering.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and analysis of structural elements for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure.
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports using specialized software.
Conduct site visits for inspections and to gather data relevant to design projects.
Collaborate with senior engineers and other team members on project tasks and problem-solving.
Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
Support the preparation of tender documents and project specifications.
