Main Responsibilities
- Develop, grow, and maintain strong relationships with buyers and producers to drive sustainable sales growth
- Support the Senior Sales Team by managing your own portfolio of buyers and producers while developing advanced selling and negotiation skills
- Build and manage a consistent base of producers to ensure reliable sourcing of quality produce
- Contribute directly to the section commission pool through sales generated from your producer base
- Maintain accurate stock records and manage inventory to minimize variances and wastage
- Ensure correct reporting, stock counting, and reconciliation of inventory data
- Utilize internal market systems to optimize sales processes and improve customer response times
- Assist in managing and delegating floor operations according to company procedures and market standards
- Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with buyers, providing product recommendations, and resolving queries promptly
- Uphold company policies, hygiene standards, and safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with Senior Salespersons and Management to enhance product knowledge, market insight, and leadership ability
- Promote a professional and positive image of the company, reflecting honesty, accountability, and strong work ethics
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications / Competencies
- Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
- APAC Certification (required)
- Minimum 5 years experience in a sales environment, preferably within the fresh produce or agricultural sectors
- Existing buyer and producer network (essential)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills verbal and written
- Excellent numerical and analytical ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal market systems
- Proven ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced trading environment
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and customer service orientation
- Negotiation and influencing skills with a drive to achieve and exceed targets
- Honest, reliable, and self-motivated with a performance-driven mindset
- Ability to lead and motivate floor staff
- Commitment to hygiene, health, and safety standards and compliance with APAC regulations
- Preference will be given to suitably qualified candidates from designated groups
