Job description

The Junior Retail Trade Manager is responsible for driving Dermalogica South Africa's retail marketing activity across Woolworths, ARC, Clicks, Dischem, and Dermalogica-owned retail stores.

This role owns the planning and execution of retail campaigns, visual merchandising, in-store activations, and consumer engagement initiatives. Reporting into the Trade Marketing Manager, this position has clear accountability for ensuring that Dermalogica's premium brand presence is consistently delivered across retail environments, while actively supporting sales growth, customer acquisition, and brand loyalty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Channel Ownership: Manage retail marketing programmes across key partners, taking responsibility for planning, execution, and performance delivery.
  • Retail Campaign Management: Lead the rollout of retail marketing campaigns, including product launches, exclusives, seasonal activity, and monthly promotions; ensure all campaigns are delivered on time and in full.
  • Visual Merchandising & Planograms: Own the creation, implementation, and maintenance of retail planograms and in-store visual merchandising to deliver consistency, premium brand standards, and effective product placement.
  • In-Store Events & Masterclasses: Lead the planning and execution of in-store events and consumer masterclasses, collaborating with Professional Skin Therapists to deliver engaging, educational experiences that drive loyalty and sales.
  • Retailer Partnerships: Serve as the key marketing contact for retail partners, building strong, collaborative relationships with marketing, buying, and sales teams to secure opportunities and maximise Dermalogica's visibility.
  • Digital Integration: Drive digital retail activation in partnership with the digital team and retailers, ensuring seamless connection between online and offline campaigns.
  • Budget Ownership: Manage the retail trade marketing budget for your accounts; raise POs, track spend, and ensure activities deliver ROI.
  • Performance Analysis: Measure and report on the effectiveness of retail campaigns and activations; provide insights and recommendations to optimise performance and inform future planning.
  • Light Leadership: Manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers supporting retail campaigns, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 3+ years' marketing experience, ideally within FMCG, retail, or beauty.
  • Proven ability to manage retail campaigns end-to-end, with ownership of budgets and outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of visual merchandising and planogram execution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook); Adobe or VM software experience a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and own transport.
