Job summary

A civil engineering contractor seeks a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Johannesburg. RPO Recruitments client a well-established civil engineering contractor based in Gauteng with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and construction projects across Gauteng and neighbouring provinces is currently seeking a hardworking and motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing tender and contract documentation including bills of quantities.
  • Measure quantities on-site and from drawings for interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Support the procurement process for subcontractors and materials.
  • Monitor project costs and assist in preparing cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify measured work.
  • Liaise with site managers engineers subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist with the preparation of payment certificates for subcontractors.
  • Support with change management including assessing variations and claims.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • National Diploma in Civil / Building or BTech / BSc degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role
  • Exposure to large civil engineering projects (bulk earthworks roads township services industrial developments concrete works pipelines culverts etc.)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and general MS Office SuiteKnowledge of CCS Candy
  • Understanding of civil construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel to various project locations.
  • Eager to learn and grow within a supportive team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Benefits

Salary: R240K R300K CTC per annum
