About the role

Under the supervision of the Senior Product Manager, the incumbent will be required to formulate tactical direction to achieve and maintain a profitable portfolio within the parameters of the company's policy and long-term plans.

The Junior Product Manager will assume full accountability of the assigned portfolio of products and be responsible for the business success thereof.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure stock levels are managed within company guidelines
  • Ensure Forecast is actively managed in conjunction with Sales
  • Ensure ERP system is continuously updated
  • Ensure product roadmaps are developed and continuously updated
  • Comply with Legal and Compliance requirements
  • Review and provide guidance on product performance in sales and failures and opportunities
  • Ensure training material is provided as and when needed for Fluidra Pro Academyo
  • Conduct training to both internal and external customers on products in their portfolio
  • Identify potential products; conduct market research; generate product requirements
  • Continuously review pricing; margin and overall opportunities to improve revenue and margin
  • On-going contact and communication with the Sales, Distribution and Manufacturing departments will be a key function of the Junior Product Manager
About You
  • National Senior Certificate / Matric / Grade 12 Certificate (Completed)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in product management, sales and / or marketing will be advantageous
  • The incumbent will have had at least 5 years post matriculation study and / or work experience, with a minimum of 3 years of product management / similar business responsibilities
  • The incumbent will preferably have had previous FMCG, or durable consumer goods experience and a thorough understanding of product lifecycle best practices are preferred
  • The Junior Product Manager will be focused on product rather than the entire marketing mix, and must have a good technical understanding and experience of products
  • A driven and action-oriented personality, who is a good communicator with excellent oral, writing and presentation skills and an ability to get on with people at all levels, is essential
  • Business acumen: able to analyse products – internal and competitor products, do market research and present findings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to advocate initiatives internally and externally, as well as with executive management
  • Must have own reliable transport which must be in good working condition, as you may be expected to visit branches / customers as and when needed
