Overview

Our client, a Technical Specialist in the Engineering and Mining Industry, is currently recruiting a Junior Buyer / Procurement Officer for their Centurion Offices.

Responsibilities
  • Purchasing various goods including machinery, equipment, raw materials, and/or other supplies for internal consumption.
  • Obtaining and negotiating prices, delivery, terms, and sources of supply following specified policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring and maintaining daily outputs.
  • Monitoring supplier performance with regard to delivery, quality, and quantity.
  • Processing internal requisitions for orders.
  • Expediting orders, following up with suppliers.
  • Reporting urgent issues regarding stock levels and supply issues.
  • Maintaining good communication between suppliers, customers, production, and management.
  • Sourcing current and new products, negotiating pricing.
  • Preparing and maintaining purchasing records, reports, and price lists.
  • Communicating with intercompany divisions regarding stock requirements and relevant departments.
  • Administering contract performance, including receipt and delivery.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Company processes and procedures, regulations, and standards.
  • Using computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word‑processing, calendars, e‑mail, and database software in performing work assignments and providing reports.
