Junior Primary School Teacher

Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons aligned with the Cambridge Curriculum Framework.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning needs and abilities.
  • Observe, assess, and document students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Maintain discipline and promote a positive, respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching through peer observation and collaboration.

Student Support

  • Promote student well-being and progress both individually and as a class.
  • Provide extra lessons and academic support as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, especially when concerns arise.
  • Conduct biannual parent interviews and write detailed student progress reports.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Participate in school events, staff meetings, CPD, and in-service training.
  • Contribute to school communications (e.g., newsletter, social media) on a rotation.
  • Mentor student or new teachers as needed.
  • Assist with planning and running school events (e.g., concerts, ceremonies).

Co-curricular Involvement

  • Supervise extracurricular and out-of-class activities during the week or weekends.
  • Participate in student clubs, cultural activities, and school fundraising events.

General Duties

  • Maintain neat workspaces and adhere to the professional dress code.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a valid PDP license.
  • Follow the school’s Code of Conduct and all instructions from leadership.
  • Collaborate with support staff and specialists for students requiring accommodations.
