Discover the Role
- Support the payroll team in providing high-quality client service, producing service deliverables for a portfolio of clients.
- This includes data preparation, assisting in payroll client administration, and acting as the day-to-day client contact to meet stakeholders’ and clients’ expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Input accurate information into the payroll system.
- Support clients with service delivery matters.
- Prepare client work according to agreed terms.
- Create and maintain relevant records.
- Escalate issues to senior team members when necessary.
- Support senior team members as required.
- Respond to stakeholders promptly with accurate information.
- Attend client meetings as needed.
- Ensure all deadlines are met.
- Liaise with Tax Authorities (SARS).
- Prepare and submit returns, submissions, accounts, and reports.
- Assist with EMP501 reconciliation.
- Advise clients on local legislation when necessary.
- Support the preparation of reports.
- Identify and report errors, raising concerns with the relevant manager.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits.
Key Requirements
- Payroll Diploma, Finance Diploma, or Finance Degree.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in payroll.
- Bookkeeping or finance administration background is ideal.
- Understanding of basic payroll principles.
- Proficiency in Excel functions like Vlookups, Pivots, and IF statements.
- Sage 300 experience is mandatory.
- Detail-oriented.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
