Job description
Overview

Location: Rosslyn-Bevtech

An exciting opportunity exists for a Junior Operations Engineer (Ring Grinding). This position reports to the Senior Operations Engineer and is graded at Peromnes 09. The purpose of this job is to support the plant with refurbishing of specialized tooling and precision machining, as well as to assist the plants to identify improvement opportunities to optimize efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand plants tooling refurbishments requirement.
  • Draw up and manage the refurbishment schedule.
  • Priorities refurbishments depending on urgency and operational requirement.
  • Ensuring quality refurbishments, carried out on time, in full and according to OEM specification.
  • Oversee the tooling flow (correct parts to correct plant).
  • Advising on tooling set up best practice.
  • Coaching and mentoring teams and providing expert tooling advice.
  • Take action to overcome any problems related to the processes.
  • Conduct trials as required. Evaluate and report findings.
  • Introduce procedures as required to maintain efficiency, quality, performance levels and reduce costs.
  • In conjunction with the Plant Personnel, ensure all maintenance procedures are up to date on equipment.
  • Assist Plants to investigate and rectify recurring problems through RCA.
Qualifications
  • Minimum N4 in toolmaking and a Trade.
  • Minimum 5-year high tolerance tool room experience.
  • A sound working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulics processes.
  • A background of tooling and machining.
  • CNC machining knowledge.
  • Understanding important of fine tolerance standards.
  • Surface and cylindrical grinding knowledge.
