Job summary

Chainlink Recruitment in Rustenburg, North West, is seeking a Junior Millwright to support maintenance, repair, installation and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment.

The role covers preventative and corrective maintenance, fault-finding, installation of machinery, welding and fabrication as needed, plus ensuring health and safety, accurate reporting, and adherence to housekeeping standards. Immediate availability preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Millwright qualification or trade-related technical qualification is required.
• Trade Tested Millwright will be advantageous.
• Some practical experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance is required.
• Exposure to manufacturing, construction, engineering or plant equipment is required.
• Basic knowledge of motors, pumps, gearboxes and conveyors is required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is required.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability is required.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn is required.
• Must be immediately available.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative and corrective maintenance on plant and production equipment.
• Assist with electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs.
• Maintain and repair motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and other mechanical equipment.
• Assist with installation, alignment and commissioning of machinery.
• Assist with breakdown maintenance to minimise production downtime.
• Read and interpret basic mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Assist with inspections and planned maintenance activities.
• Perform basic welding, fabrication and mechanical repairs where required.
• Complete maintenance reports and job cards accurately.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop and work areas.
• Provide general technical support to the maintenance team.
