About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Welkom. This is an excellent entry-level or early-career opportunity for a recent graduate or engineer with a couple of years of experience to contribute to innovative design projects. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in CAD, simulation, and product development processes. The role is crucial in supporting the design and optimization of mechanical components and systems, contributing to the creation of high-quality products for various applications within the company's diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and modification of 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software.
• Support senior engineers in conducting design reviews, simulations (e.g., FEA, thermal analysis), and performance testing.
• Help in the preparation of technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing specifications.
• Participate in prototype development, assembly, and testing activities, documenting results and observations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand design requirements and provide technical support throughout the product development cycle.
• Learn and apply company design standards, best practices, and relevant industry codes and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Some practical experience or internship in mechanical design, preferably using 3D CAD software like Inventor or SolidWorks.
