Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking a junior Accountant to assist with financial reporting, invoicing, VAT/compliance, and month-end tasks. You will contribute to management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, and cash flow management while working closely with auditors and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates hold a BCom Accounting or similar, have 1–2 years of accounting/finance experience, strong Excel skills, and an entrepreneurial, proactive mindset with good communication.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or similar qualification is required.
• 1–2 years of accounting or finance experience in a commercial environment.
• Candidates straight out of audit will not be considered.
• Exposure to management accounting is advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial and management reporting.
• Process invoices and load supplier bills onto Xero.
• Manage monthly invoicing and accounts receivable collections.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end processes.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and budget vs actual reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Handle VAT, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Coordinate payment processing and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with auditors and provide financial information to stakeholders.
• Support project accounting and inventory management.
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects as required.
