Job description

Stellenpak is a well-established fruit packing and cooling enterprise in Paarl, serving a niche market segment in the fruit industry. The company is looking for a hardworking individual to act as Junior Maintenance Technician.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and identify potential equipment or machinery problems
  • Conduct fault finding, determine root causes, and perform repairs or preventative maintenance
  • Plan and schedule maintenance to minimize production interruptions
  • Ensure availability of required tools, materials, and equipment
  • Start up production lines and verify machinery is operational before each shift
  • Complete repair work from job cards and document actions taken
  • Decide when to use external contractors for repairs or projects
  • Plan and execute maintenance projects with minimal disruption to production
  • Accurately complete all maintenance documentation (job cards, checklists, forms) in line with BRC and OHS standards
  • Perform regular inspections of toolboxes and power tools, maintaining proper records
  • Communicate repair and maintenance progress to artisans and line managers
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair work complies with company safety standards
  • Secure and clearly mark maintenance areas and enforce PPE use
Requirements
  • Grade 12 (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of packhouse experience
  • Proven experience in maintenance or mechanical work
  • NQF Level 3 qualification (preferred)
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and take responsibility
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
  • Deadline‑driven and proactive in problem‑solving
  • Reliable, consistent, and committed to quality work
