Job summary

Munich Re Africa Branch (MRAB) Life portfolio is seeking a Junior Claims Consultant to join the Life Claims Management Team, reporting to the Head of Claims Operations. The role provides claims risk management expertise to the MRAB Life team and clients, marketing risk management services, and promoting prudent practices to ensure profitability.

You will establish and manage relationships with Claims Managers, assess and validate claims, and provide guidance on international and local best

Qualifications

• BSc – Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology or Equivalent
• 2–3 years life claims assessment experience in the insurance industry (dealing with Group Life and/or Retail Life Claims)
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent negotiations skills
• Sound report writing skills
• Sound computer literacy

Responsibilities

• Providing claims risk management expertise to the MRAB Life team and clients
• Marketing of claims risk management services to clients (Life Insurance companies)
• Promoting and ensuring effective claims risk management practices relating to the MRAB Life portfolio
• Establishing and managing relationships with Claims Managers and other decision makers
• Ensuring profitability of portfolios through prudent claims risk management practices
• Providing advice to clients regarding international and local best practices.
• Assessing and validating claims
