Who We're Looking For

Village N Life based in the heart of Camps Bay, has a position for a Junior IT Technician to join their team. We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual with a foundational understanding of IT support. You should be able to excel at solving technical issues, supporting end-users, and thriving under pressure. Strong organizational and administrative skills and excellent communication skills are key. You will handle technical support requests with care and professionalism, ensuring attention to detail shines through in what you do.

What is required

Providing efficient and proactive support of systems for all Village and Life members of staff, guests, or tenants. Challenging and result driven role, fulfilling the expectations of the group 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Sound knowledge of systems using Windows and MacOS as its Operating System, and MS Office suites. Attention to service delivery at the highest of standards, maintaining time management and priority levels.

  • This is fully on-site position, with no remote or hybrid work options available.
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent

Duties include, and not limited to
Administration
  • Filing of Agreements, Information, Proposals and Transactions.
  • Updating of Asset Registers and stock keeping of IT Equipment in storage.
  • DSTV Account activation and deactivation requests.
  • Monthly password changing communication sent to all staff.
  • Vendor coordination for quoting, orders, deliveries, collections, or repairs.
  • Completion of daily checklists and reporting to Head of Technology and / or IT Manager.
  • Third party support follow up and resolutions.
Servers
  • Basic Server checks
  • Basic Active Directory operations and troubleshooting
  • Basic Dell PowerEdge operations and troubleshooting
  • Basic XenServer operations and troubleshooting
  • Basic TracTech T&A operations and troubleshooting
Data
  • Basic resource sharing
  • Basic backup checks, testing and reporting
  • Basic Mimecast operations and troubleshooting
Clients
  • Ticket System First Tier support and resolution
  • Standardised Computer Deployment and checklists
  • Basic Simphony POS troubleshooting
  • Remote Support Tools (RDP, Anydesk, TeamViewer)
  • User guidance on Operating system and software
  • Printer setup, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Any third-party software support.
Security
  • Basic CCTV operations and troubleshooting
Access Control
  • Basic HikVision and VIRDI operations and troubleshooting
Communication
  • Basic IP PABX and Phone operations and troubleshooting
  • Basic MS365 Admin Centre operations and troubleshooting
  • Basic support on mobile phones and apps
Networking
  • Basic Sophos endpoint operations and troubleshooting
  • Basic operations and troubleshooting on Netgear Switches
  • Basic operations and troubleshooting for Ruckus and Unifi AP’s
  • Maintenance and installation of network cabling
Audio and Visual
  • Basic DSTV SAT-IP operations and troubleshooting
  • Basic Smart TV operations and troubleshooting
  • Video conferencing setups and testing
  • Support for events setup of audio and video equipment
  • Content streaming troubleshooting
Backup Power
  • Basic knowledge of Inverters, Generators and Solar
  • Basic online portal operations and troubleshooting
