EcoSolutions Projects Management (Pty) Ltd is a leading South African manufacturer of LED lighting, smart meters, and 4IR-enabled smart city technologies.

As part of our expansion, we are seeking a Junior IT Engineer to provide support and undergo training in managing the IT infrastructure that supports both our SMT production line and general office systems.

This role offers training, mentorship, and long‑term growth within a modern manufacturing environment.

Role Purpose

The Junior IT Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s IT systems, including:

• SMT (Surface Mount Technology) production line computer systems
• Assembly and testing line software environments
• Industrial PCs and machine interface systems
• Office IT infrastructure and devices
• Network, server, and cloud‑based platforms
• User support for engineering, production, and administrative teams

The successful candidate will be trained to work closely with senior international engineers and IT staff to ensure uninterrupted operations across all business units.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day IT support for production, engineering, and office staff.
• Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, industrial PCs, and peripherals.
• Assist with the maintenance and operation of SMT line computer systems and software.
• Support IT elements of production machinery requiring PC interfaces.
• Maintain network infrastructure (LAN, Wi‑Fi, VLANs) and ensure system connectivity.
• Conduct system updates, patching, antivirus checks, and user account management.
• Assist in ERP and production software implementation, configuration, and updates.
• Maintain IT asset registers, documentation, and access control records.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a fast‑paced environment.
• Support data backup processes, system integrity, and cybersecurity protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: N6, Diploma, or Degree in Information Technology, Networking / Cybersecurity, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (advantageous).

Experience: 0–2 years working experience (graduates are encouraged to apply).

Core Competencies

Strong understanding of:

• PC hardware and software
• Windows operating systems
• Basic networking (IP configuration, switches, routers)
• Printer and device setup

Preferred Knowledge

• Exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Understanding of SMT equipment or automation systems.
• Experience with SQL databases or ERP systems.
• Basic scripting or programming (Python, C#, or similar).
• Familiarity with IoT devices, embedded systems, or production monitoring systems.
• Experience commercial access control and security systems.
• Strong problem‑solving ability.

• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple support requests.
