Job summary

Vine Recruitment is seeking a Junior Inventory Cost Accountant in Paarl to support cost accounting, inventory costing, stock control and reporting. The role offers exposure to BOMs, pricing and variance analysis in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with Pastel Evolution, maintain data, assist with stock takes, and contribute to gross profit calculations while liaising with suppliers and internal teams. This is an excellent entry point for careers in inventory management and cost accounting.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Cost Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Experience in stock control, inventory administration or costing is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Pastel Evolution or similar accounting system is preferred.
• Good Excel and numerical skills are required.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow within inventory/cost accounting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory data, product master files and warehouse locations.
• Assist with product costing and pricing of imported and local products.
• Ensure BOMs and inventory pricing are accurate.
• Assist with stock takes and investigating discrepancies.
• Prepare inventory reports and analyze stock variances.
• Reconcile stock on hand with general ledger balances.
• Monitor minimum stock levels and assist with replenishment.
• Maintain pricing matrices and apply correct discount levels.
• Monitor stock shortages and wastage, reporting discrepancies.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing and negotiate discounts where possible.
