Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the R&D lifecycle for mechanical and stabiliser systems, supporting the team from design to prototype development.
- Support project teams in understanding client requirements and help deliver engineering solutions under guidance from senior engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project tasks are executed according to technical specifications and timelines.
- Contribute to the development of mechanical designs, performing calculations, simulations, and prototype testing under supervision.
- Assist with documentation and reporting for design projects, including updating drawings, BOMs, and technical reports.
- Support prototype assembly and testing, helping to identify issues and suggest improvements under guidance.
- Conduct basic research on materials, components, and manufacturing methods to support project development.
- Learn and apply engineering standards and best practices, including ISO, ASME, and local safety regulations.
- Participate in meetings with internal teams and occasional client discussions, assisting in preparation of reports or presentations.
- Contribute ideas during team design reviews, bringing fresh perspectives while learning from senior engineers.
- Follow safety, regulatory, and quality standards in all design and engineering activities.
- Learn and apply best practices in design, prototyping, and problem-solving with mentoring from senior engineers.
Requirements
Educational Qualification: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or Mechatronics (BSc / BEng), or equivalent. Candidates should have completed or be in final year.
- Mechanical design principles and processes
- Basics of R&D and prototype development
- Understanding of mechanical systems, stabilisers, or related engineering concepts
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) and basic simulation tools
- Ability to perform calculations, create engineering drawings, and follow specifications
- Basic understanding of safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Exposure to testing, measurement, or prototype validation is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn from senior engineers and take on new challenges
- Professionalism and attention to detail in documentation and presentations
- Valid drivers license required for occasional travel
