The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Junior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based in Cape Town. This role plays a key part in the financial operations of Aerobotics, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across the company’s financial processes.

As an integral member of the Finance team, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end finance administration, manage critical accounting and reporting activities, and contribute to process improvement and system optimisation. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across the business and provide key financial insights that support decision-making and growth.

What you’ll do
  • Oversee day‑to‑day financial administration, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all transactions.
  • Manage supplier relationships and oversee the full accounts payable process, including weekly supplier payment runs and processing of expense and mileage claims.
  • Manage all bank account reconciliations and ensure supporting documentation is complete and properly filed.
  • Prepare and review VAT201 return workings, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Oversee payroll preparation and leave administration for South African and USA‑based employees, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Manage cost recovery and transfer pricing transactions across entities.
  • Support the Group Reporting Manager with the quality control of revenue and cost of sales inputs as well as month‑end processes, audit preparation, and reporting.
  • Identify and support improvements in finance processes, systems, and controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.
What you’ll need
  • BCom Accounting or a related business qualification with strong accounting coursework.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in finance administration, accounting, or related roles.
  • Proven experience using Xero, Expensify, and Google Sheets/Excel for financial management.
  • Strong understanding of VAT principles and compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise multiple deliverables in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and take initiative.
  • Experience working in a scale‑up or technology‑driven company is advantageous.
